There have been few things in life that really impress me. But I must admit that the Teach Them Diligently Convention this year in Washington, DC has done just that! From the beautiful surroundings of the Gaylord Hotel and Resort, the perfect weather, the outstanding speakers and the awesome children’s program, I will say that I am in awe.

In 76 days my family and I will be making the drive (700 miles) into Washington DC to attend the Teach Them Diligently Convention! We have attended the convention the past two years in Spartanburg, South Carolina, but with us finishing a two-year American History run, the ability to be at the convention and do a tour is just way too tempting. In just a few hours it will be a new year, but will there be a new you? Many people take this time of year to make resolutions that will change their life in one way or another. We will resolve to lose weight (Trim Healthy Mama if your thinking of that), to read more (the Bible is an excellent one) or maybe even be a better person. Guys, I am here today to get to the first of three things we as dads/fathers need to know to be the best that we can be. It is not an easy task to be a dad and even harder when we are going at it blindly. Yet do not lose hope, for there is an instruction book already prepared for you by the best author ever. Today we will cover a topic that we all need to hear about and take a close look at.
When I think of the responsibility of a dad/father, there are two verses that come to my mind. Both of these verses speak of a direct job and responsibility of a father. One is not to provoke your kids and the other is to train them. Both are huge responsibilities of the father and they are both responsibilities that many of us push away and push-off to others to do.
