“When I get the time son…” or “Let’s go guys…I don’t have a lot of time…” or “I got a time schedule going here, let’s move it…” Are these the phrases that your kids hear from you? Dad are the kids constantly fighting for your time, are you are fighting for your time and your wife is fighting for your time? What Are You Passing? Now there is a question to ask on the day after Halloween! But what I am asking goes deeper. What are you passing to your kids? What are you passing to your grandkids?
Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB) 19 “For I have chosen him so that he will command his children and his house after him to keep the way of the Lord by doing what is right and just. This is how the Lord will fulfill to Abraham what He promised him.”
The Purpose of Fatherhood
In the verse above, God said that I have chosen him (Abraham). Fatherhood is a calling, not just a job. It is a calling because he said I have chosen Abraham so that he will command his children. It is a calling the comes from the highest of all employers. It has been established by God to achieve His divine purposes. This calling is called in the scripture a covenant.

Hey dads! I am coming at you with a very important question and topic. Who has your child’s heart? There are many things and activities in the life of a child today that pull their attention away from us as parents. In time it can cause a separation of sorts between you and your child. The way to avoid such issues is to have your child’s heart. But what does that mean? How do you get and keep your child’s heart.
1 My son, if you accept my words
and store up my commands within you,
2 listening closely to wisdom
and directing your heart to understanding;
3 furthermore, if you call out to insight
and lift your voice to understanding,
4 if you seek it like silver
and search for it like hidden treasure,
5 then you will understand the fear of the Lord
and discover the knowledge of God.
6 For the Lord gives wisdom;
from His mouth come knowledge and understanding.
Got a question for you dad, “What’s Acceptable?” At the end of this month many people will celebrate Halloween. As the Druids danced around the fires, they celebrated the ending of the summer season and the beginning of the season of darkness. It was also believed that at this time of year the invisible “gates” between the natural world and the spirit world would open, allowing free movement between the two worlds. Continue reading →
