Make Your Ways Known To Me

Roadmap of Atlanta, GA in 1911.

Problem

Instructions… roadmaps… G.P.S… the wife, all of these things give directions. Some more than others! But it is nice to know what to do at times. I am a guy and I will admit that I don’t know everything. Hey, ask my kids, they will tell you. However, there is one way to find out what we as men all need. You simply ask.

Psalms 25:4-5 (CSB)
4 Make your ways known to me, Lord; teach me your paths.
5 Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation; I wait for you all day long.

Many a man is simply unable to ask for help, request some assistance, or say that he is lost. It is just not in most of our deoxyribonucleic acid. However, there was one guy who got it right, David. He simply broke down and asked God. In the verses above he wants to know what he should do, how to get there, and he does not care how long it takes. You know, everything that most guys won’t do; David is asking and willing to do.

Solution

As a homeschooling dad, I am constantly having to ask for guidance, help, directions, and patience from God. Men if you are doing it without His help, I don’t know how you are doing it. I have tried to be “The Man” and I have landed on my face before Him. The cool part is that He will stand me back up on my feet and give me direction on what to do next if I ask. Men if you ask of God, He will supply.

Also, we as men can learn from each other! What I know may help you and what you know may help me. However, the only way we will know if we can help each other is if we lower our walls, pride, and stubbornness. Men, if you are not yet coming to the Teach Them Diligently Homeschool Convention, make a point to come and listen to other men in the trenches with you. Listen, ask, speak, and become part of the homeschool in your home.

Extra Credit

On April 5th, 6th, and 7th the Convention will be in Atlanta, GA. There will be an outstanding group of men speaking to other men giving words of advice, comfort, healing, and understanding. There even will be some Husband of a Homeschooling Mom guy there speaking. (That would be me) If you have not thought about it yet, now is the time. The prices are going up on Friday and you can get a discount if you use the promo code of ATLANTA10. Guys, I would love to see you there. If you make it come by and say hello and throw a high five up as you go by!

Till next time…
I’m just a husband of a homeschooling mom,

Steve Blackston
