Pray For Her Mouth

If you are just catching this series, you really need to start at the beginning! This will allow you to stay focused as we make our way up through the prayer for our wives. Today we are moving on as I said we would and today guys I want you to start praying for your wife’s mouth!

MOUTH

“She opens her mouth with wisdom
and loving instruction is on her tongue.” Proverbs 31:26

I do not believe that there is not a guy out there who would love to have a lying or misleading wife. We would want a wife that would be honest and upfront with us and everyone that we come in contact with. As a matter of fact, that was one of the virtues I was looking for when I was looking for a wife. I wanted a woman who wanted Godly wisdom and would share it as well. I wanted and found just that type of woman. Now at times, she shares more than I would want to hear, but it is what I need and what she needs as well. God knew where my life was going and exactly who I needed in my life.
Guys, I know that there are times in my life when my wife has told me what I did not want to hear. Things that hurt me. Why? She was giving loving instruction. She loves me and therefore she tries to help me see the error of my ways. A great example of this was a few years back I was addicted to video games. I would not let the kids come around me while playing, I would neglect things around the house, and I even neglected my wife and would stay up late playing video games with my “friends” while she slept alone in the bed. She finally brought this to me and explained her feelings and how I was treating everyone. She prayed for wisdom and got it. She approached me and it hurt, but it was needed. To this day, I am thankful for a wife who gives wisdom and loving instruction.

“But speaking the truth in love, let us grow in every way into Him who is the head—Christ.” Ephesians 4:15

So men, let us be mindful to pray for our wife and especially their mouth. Because when we refuse to listen to many other voices out there, hers is one we should be listening to. We need to ask the God will give them Godly wisdom, that goodness and kindness would be spoken from her, and that our wives will always speak the truth in love.

** Side Note – Men, we need to listen to the council of our wives. I am not saying do everything they want. There is a fine line here. We are called to listen then seek the ultimate authority of God. Remember that God used great women in the Bible just as he used great men.**

Till next time..
I’m just a Husband of a Homeschooling Mom,
Steve
