PRAYING FOR HER HEART

PRAYING FOR HER HEART

Men when was the last time that you took the time to pray for your wifes’ heart? I am mainly talking about the spiritual part of her heart. They physical is a given. We as the leaders and providers and protectors of our household should always be praying for the physical strength and well-being of our family. Yet today, I ask you “Are you praying for her heart?” Are you praying for the spiritual strength and well-being of her heart? Are you treating her heart as though it was your own. Are you protecting her heart as though it was your own?

[Eph 5:33 HCSB] 33 To sum up, each one of you is to love his wife as himself, and the wife is to respect her husband.

Did you get that verse from Ephesians? We, the men, are to love your wife as yourself. In today’s society and world we use the word love very loosely! I love chocolate cake. I love my shoes. I love to watch football. I love to deer hunt. The word love has taken the place of the word like or prefer. To love something means that you have an intense feeling of deep affection toward the object. Do you have this intense feeling of deep affection toward your wife? And even more-so, her heart? Do you protect it with all that you are? Because the great part of that verse is at the end for us guys. But for her to respect us, we need to love our wife as ourself. Guard her heart men, and she will be there for you.

[1Th 2:7 HCSB] 7 Although we could have been a burden as Christ’s apostles, instead we were gentle among you, as a nursing mother nurtures her own children.

It is our job and duty to take care of our wife in all aspects. There are times that I fail and I need to ask for forgiveness because I let my own wife down. But we should remember to pray that God will take and fill our wife’s heart with love and respect for us and with tender patience toward our kids. Pray that she is gentle among you and your kids. Pray that her heart would seek God’s word to place within her own.

Next time guys we will be talking about praying for your wife’s mouth!

Till next time…
