Getting Squeezed?

Men, when you squeeze an orange, what comes out? If you are like my wife you start asking the questions of “Is there a hole in the orange?…Is it sliced in half?…Are you using one hand or two hands?” I think there is a special place for people who ask so many question. However, the answer to the question is what? Orange juice. Rather straight forward answer. So, for question number two. What comes out of you when you get squeezed?

Getting Squeezed?

Getting Squeezed?

Most guys live with a great amount of stress all bottled up within them on a daily basis. We think about the house payment, car payment, insurance issues, getting braces, kids being sick, keeping the house warm, not choking a co-worker, and life events. And of course being the guy and man of the house, we are not allowed to show our emotions no matter how much they are effecting us. When we are under pressure from all sides, it will show our true color and nature. If constant stress and pressure can make the tectonic plates shift and move entire mountains, we as men are no match. Now before you start saying “The amount of pressure that is on the tectonic plates is way different from the pressure on men.” Your right, it is a different pressure. But mental pressure and mental stress combined with physical stress can all add up to what I would call an equivalent pressure. So guys, what are we to do? Just suck it up and carry on with the pressures of life and just learn to live with them? Only if you want to be miserable. Try this:

Psalm 55:22

Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB) 22 Cast your burden on the Lord, and He will sustain you; He will never allow the righteous to be shaken.

Men will try to take everything upon themselves and move on, but it clearly says that we can cast our cares, our burden, our problems, and our stress on the Lord and He will sustain you. What does it mean to sustain? It means to strengthen or support physically or mentally. Wow, just what we need! But, that’s the way that God works. So before you are squeezed too much and ugliness comes pouring out of you, cast your burdens on the Lord and praise Him as he sustains you.

Till next time,
