Today is a special day for me. Fourteen year ago a very special and important lady and I made a commitment before man and most of all God. That the two of us would hold onto each other through thick and thin, good and bad, and happy and sad times. Today we are still holding on to each other with God’s arms wrapped around both of us. She stays at home to raise and teach the kids, cook most of the meals, clean, wash clothes, make fresh butter and bread, and greets me with a smile and a kiss. I still feel the same way today when I see her that I did some 16 years ago when I saw her. Nichole, you bring a lump to my throat, a skip to my heart and butterflies still flutter in my stomach at seeing you. You have been more than I ever deserved and loved me when I was not lovable. If I had it to do all over again, I would not change a thing.

I remember standing there next to a dancing preacher watching you walk down with your daddy strutting to the music. I remember standing up there next to you being scared and not knowing what to do. And as the preacher said “As long as the rabbit runs around the stump, you will always be my darlin’ honey lump”, I am thankful that rabbit is still running.
You came down the aisle to Chicago’s “Saturday in the Park”, but for today, here is something more fitting and my style.
