Husbands, do you have a submitting wife? This is a topic that can at times stir up many emotions and negative thoughts. Sometimes, we as husbands try to bash our wives with the scripture found in the Bible and especialy that found in Ephesians to belittle them into being what we think they should be.
22 Wives, submit to your own husbands as to the Lord,
23 for the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church. He is the Savior of the body.
24 Now as the church submits to Christ, so wives are to submit to their husbands in everything.
However do we as husbands look a bit further? Do we see what we should be doing for our wifes? It is not just a one way give me everything I want relationship, guys. Paul continues on here to explain the husband should do.
25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave Himself for her
26 to make her holy, cleansing her with the washing of water by the word.
27 He did this to present the church to Himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or anything like that, but holy and blameless.
28 In the same way, husbands are to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.
You see guys, we are to love our wifes, not what she does or if she is pleasing to you, but to love them no matter what. Look at it this way. God sees what we do daily. He loves us unconditionally and totally. Do you do things that He does not approve of or are wrong in His eyes? Yeah, we all do. Yet, He loves us. He does not bring up the past and shove it in your face, He loves you and gave of Himself for you.
When was the last time you prayed for your wife? When was the last time you blessed her, spoke scripture over her or shared God’s word with her in a way that relates to her homeschooling struggles? The more you are involved in the homeschooling struggle with her and the more you are in God’s word, the more you will see her in a whole new way. The amazing thing is that your wife will start to see herself in a new way as well.
So come on men, we are husbands of homeschooling moms, love your wives, pray over and with them, bless them with the word of God and watch them and you grow.
